First thing to keep in mind is that these are very different from other toys. The method of handling these reborn baby dolls is not same as for ordinary toys. You should not let children play them when they are not in your supervision. The parts of the doll could become choking hazard for the children if they become loose.
At the time of dressing the dolls try not to force any of its parts or they might come loose as the joints are attached lightly and are also quite brittle. Very cold temperature will also harm the doll and can result in brittleness or cracking to appear in it.
Dust can also be a problem and cause the doll to lose its looks. Keep it in a location which is not affected by different environmental conditions and clean it lightly on a daily basis using a damp cloth but do not use any type of cleaner or polish.
If you are not going to handle it often then it will be better to make a showcase to keep it. This way it will remain safe as well as clean for a long time.
In case it is mohair which is hand rooted, you need to brush them gently and can also occasionally moisten them. This type of hair mat or bunch quite easily so you need to properly and carefully comb out those mats.
You need to take care when posing the reborn baby doll. You should gently pose its legs and arms but they should never be forced as then doll's seams can tear quite easily. Similar care is to be taken while moving the head from one site to another.
